About Robin

Aloha and a little about me and what I do...

My pleasure and what I value is to work side-by-side with parents and children to discover,

"What is it that gets in the way of you and a loving relationship with your child, partner, yourself?"

My name is Robin Bloom.  Children and teaching are a love of mine. I am happiest when in the heart of my family, close friends, animals, nature and curiously those with little squiggly toes. These treasures in my life are what kept me alive and yearning for more during a long health recovery.

By profession, I am certified as both a special-needs and elementary education teacher and a counselor, an equine experiential facilitator, a published nonfiction author and a pet therapy team volunteer. Among other things, a self-taught brain injury survivor who awakened spiritually to thrive, recreate and reclaim her life many times over as the victor of three traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and resulting spinal traumas.

Amidst the tiresome struggles of my brain injuries and with sheer determination, I became wise as to how I could transform my world by merely changing my thoughts (although not always an easy task to break old ways but achievable with practice & a commitment). I discovered my thoughts originated from either "love or fear" and became aware that we are the creators of our world. When you believe in yourself and show up everyday with an open heart and an open mind your world changes. It is that simple, if you choose. "HOW" is both the question and the answer to being "honest, open and willing" in creating positive change.

Lasting happiness comes from experiencing loving relationships with people, rather than things. Things do not define happiness but may be the source of suffering. What needs to change within your relationships in order to feel happy about your life? Through my work as a teacher, consultant and coach I offer simple, fun and practical ways to ignite loving and meaningful relationships. Everyone becomes empowered; as humans we all need to feel safe and to feel loved...this helps to establish a strong sense of belonging especially with those closest to us. In essence, we are all interconnected like the droplets to the ocean; without the droplets there would be no ocean. And each droplet is a unique "part of the whole," as opposed to a separate "individual."

When not teaching, I like experimenting with new raw food and vegan recipes, playing with my horse, exploring Kaua'i and dipping my toes in the ocean.

I cherish the opportunity to help restore the joy within the families of Kaua'i!
