About Robin

Aloha and a little about me and what I do...

My pleasure and what I value is to work side-by-side with parents and children to discover,

"What is it that gets in the way of you and a loving relationship with your child?"

My name is Robin Bloom.  Children and teaching are a love of mine. I am happiest when in the heart of my family, close friends, animals, nature and curiously those with little squiggly toes. These treasures in my life are what kept me alive and yearning for more during a long health recovery.

By profession, I am certified as both a special needs and elementary education teacher and counselor, an educational and equine facilitator, a published nonfiction author and a pet therapy team volunteer. Among other things, a self-taught brain injury survivor who has learned how to thrive, recreate and reclaim my life many times over as the victor of three traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and spinal traumas.

Amidst the tiresome struggles of my brain injuries and with sheer determination, I became wise as to how I could transform my world by merely changing my thoughts (although not always an easy task to break old ways but achievable with practice). I discovered my thoughts originated from either "love or fear" and became aware that "anything and everything is possible." We are the creators of our world. When you believe in yourself and show up everyday with an open heart and an open mind your world changes. It is that simple, if you choose. HOW is both the question and answer to being "honest, open and willing" in creating positive change.

Through my work as a teacher, consultant, coach and parenting workshop facilitator I offer parents simple, fun and practical ways to ignite loving and meaningful relationships with their children. New skills are practiced and acquired through empathy, mutual respect, clear limit setting and accountability. Both the parent and child become empowered; all humans have a deep need to feel valued, recognized, and appreciated especially by those closest to them.

When not teaching, I like experimenting with new raw food and vegan recipes, playing with my horse, exploring Kaua'i and dipping my toes in the ocean.

I sincerely cherish the opportunity to help restore the joy in parenting the keiki of Kaua'i!
